“Grief is like a long valley, a winding valley where any bend may reveal a totally new landscape." -C.S Lewis, A Grief Observed
The ache of losing a loved one can be deeply painful. The feeling of emptiness and loneliness is pervasive. After the funeral, the meal train and the sympathy cards cease, a heavy silence can settle over. Whether the loss was anticipated or unexpected, grief can be incredibly isolating. It can feel like everyone else lives in a different reality, while time for you has stopped.
Adding to the isolation, there may be other complications to the loss: unresolved tension, relational estrangement, financial stress, existential questions, and navigating the logistics and endless tasks that ensue.
Grief counseling provides you a space where you can be your messy, authentic self. Allow yourself to be cared for and just breathe. I will walk alongside you, steadily, patiently, and unhurried. Come and rest and just be.
